1916 Uprising, Dublin

The 1916 uprising, Dublin, Ireland.

I stumbled on a pilgrimage walking through the streets of Dublin exactly 100 years to the day after it had happened. I found it really interesting and felt part of it since my partner had a direct genealogical link to one of the leaders in the uprising.

The Audio takes you through it. Enjoy.

To me this was an amazingly insightful way to experience part of Ireland’s history and actually feel included in it with the link through Claire and her children.

I have since been to a 4.00am morning vigule last week when Sean Heuston was executed 100 years ago. Letters he wrote, sisters letters to him were all read out. It was quite moving.
